Memorial Day Parade

Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor those who gave their lives in military service to the United States of America. On this federal holiday communities across the nation will hold events to commemorate the heroic sacrifices made by those who were lost in defense of our country. If you’re in the Bronxville area of New York or will be during the holiday, there will be a variety of events for people of all ages, including the renowned Memorial Day Parade. Here’s what you need to know about local events.

Memorial Day Parade 2024

Bronxville, New York will observe Memorial Day through a series of special events, one of which is the annual parade. The Bronxville Memorial Day Parade is held every year on the Monday that the holiday occurs. This year’s parade kicks off at 8:45 AM on May 27, 2024. You should prepare to find your spot along the parade route at least 30-45 minutes prior to the start, and expect the parade to last a few hours.

Parade Route

The parade will follow the usual route, beginning at Leonard Morange Square and proceeding along Pondfield Road ending at the Bronxville School. The best viewing areas will be along Pondfield Road, so prepare to set up your chairs somewhere along that road in order to see each float, vehicle, band, etc.

Parade Participants

The parade may include any of the following participants:

  • Civic organizations. You can expect to see representation from a variety of the area’s civic organizations in the parade.
  • Local dignitaries. The parade will include appearances from local elected officials and representatives.
  • First responders. The police and fire department as well as other first responders will be present along with their emergency vehicles. The lights and sirens are sure to excite the crowds, but be prepared with ear protection for young children.
  • Antique cars. A variety of antique cars will be in the parade that can also be viewed in car shows over the holiday weekend.
