At Bronxville Family Dental, the health of our patients and staff is our highest priority.
Even before the COVID-19 outbreak or office followed strict infection control guidelines that would have prevented the transmission of the novel coronavirus (or any other virus) to our patients and staff. In an abundance of caution, we have increased the frequency and thoroughness of our sanitizing procedures and we follow safety procedures recommended by the Center for Disease Control, the American Dental Association, and OSHA.
Due to our unwavering commitment to safety, Bronxville Family Dental has incorporated updates and protocols and equipment that we would like to share with our community.
Aerus Beyond Guardian Air Filtration System with ActivePure Technology will remove air particulate, surface particulate, viruses, and minuscule particulates as small as 0.1 microns. The new HEPA filtration system features technology surpassed by none. A multi-port ion generator has an electric current that ionizes the air particles before they pass through the carbon backed HEPA filtration system. Air is then passed across a UV germicidal lamp. These components remove 99.97% of surface and airborne particulate. NASA recognizes the Aerus Beyond Guardian System with ActivePure Air Purification system as the ONLY certified Space Technology that protects air and surfaces 24 hours a day.
Aegis Aerosol Vacustation is a multifunction unit that reduces aerosols produced by dental procedures. The vacustation serves as an auxiliary extra oral suction unit as well as a HEPA filtration system. This multi-filtration unit removes up to 99.97% of all airborne particulates and pathogens (down to 0.3 microns), decreasing the potential spread of infections and diseases. Aegis meets United States HEPA filtration requirements and is ideal for a dental health setting.
Zyris Isolite Systems offer continuous suction throughout dental procedures to eliminate over 90% of aerosols. When compared to the use of regular dental evacuation/ suction systems, Isolite is more effective in reducing the amount of airborne particles, helping to decrease exposure to debris, bacteria, and airborne pathogens for patients, dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants.
EMIST: EPIX360 Electrostatic Disinfectant Sprayer. The EPIX360 is the most effective handheld disinfectant sprayer in the world. Electrostatic spray surface cleaning is the process of spraying an electrostatically charged mist onto surfaces and equipment. The positive electric charge allows any sanitizers, mold preventatives and disinfectants to wrap around and evenly coat all types of surfaces for a more efficient and thorough cleaning process. Electrostatic Disinfection improves infection control and the spread of viruses.
At Bronxville Family Dental, we are screening each patient for risk of exposure before scheduling appointments and rescreening patients once they arrive to the office. Treatment is being postponed for patients that are showing any signs of illness or have traveled recently.
We have also made changes to the waiting area design and our scheduling, to allow for increased social distancing.
Before returning to work, all team members at Bronxville Family Dental were required to have a COVID-19 screening test to confirm a negative lab result. Team members are screened twice daily to monitor for any changes in temperature or other symptoms.
